I know it sounds repetitive, but being a wedding photographer in Virginia has some wonderful perks…The mountains on one end of the state with the beach on the other. Not only do I love this Virginia landscape but I also absolutely adore the couples I work with. It’s not unusual for me to feel like I’ve known them forever during our first phone call. This was no different with Ricki. She had a clear vision for her James River Country Club wedding day and it sounded like perfection. (If you know me, you know I love a country club wedding.) She shared that she and Gabriel were in the military, and I was even more excited to be able to walk with them to their wedding day.

Being a wedding photographer in Virginia who travels a good bit to document love stories, I tend to book a high number of out-of-town couples. For that reason, I don’t always have experience at a couple’s wedding venue before the wedding day. It was truly lovely to be able to explore the wedding venue during Ricki and Gabriel’s engagement session! From the lush greenery and florals in bloom to the soft sand and private beach area-it was perfection. James River Country Club is divine, and I have no doubt it will be the perfect backdrop for this couple’s August wedding.
