I gotta’ tell ya…I’m kinda in love with Kimmy and Sean’s Argyle Country Club wedding! Like, head-over-heels in love. I adore the details and every little thing that made the day perfect, but mostly I think I’m just smittin’ with the people who were a part of this day, starting with the couple. They are so kind and genuine, and they are truly a joy to be around, so the day was a ton of fun all around. Kimmy, Sean, their families, and their bridal party were a-MAZ-ing, and I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with them.
I met Kimmy when she was a bridesmaid in Liza and Alex’s wedding. At that point, she had recently gotten engaged and had not yet done a lot of wedding planning. I not-so-secretly wanted to photograph her wedding, so I was thrilled when the time came for us to chat! I knew that Kimmy was a super fun person, so I was certain Sean would be fantastic, too, and he was. The two of them planned a GORGEOUS wedding, filled with sweet moments, elegant details, and LOTS of fun!
Kimmy and all nine of her beautiful, sweet bridesmaids, prepared at her mother’s home in Maryland. They were so kind and helpful, and they could not have looked more perfect. They made sure I had everything I needed while doting on the blushing bride as she prepared to marry her high school sweetheart, Sean. Kimmy didn’t miss a beat and was ready for this moment. She had Matthew Christopher custom design her wedding gown, and it fit her perfectly. It was, quite literally, made. for. HER. And when she put it on, she was simply radiant.
I didn’t meet Sean until the ceremony, but even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of that moment, he was gracious and warm. He welcomed me with a smile and instantly began to go along with my visions for their day. But most of all, he was at ease. Surrounded by his father, brother, and very best friends, Sean was ready to stand at the altar and marry the woman he had fallen in love with many years ago.
Kimmy and Sean… I honestly LOVED everything about your wedding, from the details to your family and friends. But mostly, I enjoyed getting to know the two of you and watching you share a love that so many people hope to have one day. It is clear that you were meant to be together and I can only hope that these images bring you many years of joy as you reflect on the time you promised your forevers. To each other. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to share in this time with you, and I wish you love and laughter for years to come. Best, Michelle 🙂
Ok! Let’s get to the goooooood stuff! Just look at these details. I can’t even get enough of them… I may or may not have tried to stuff Kimmy’s Badgley Mischka’s into my Shootsac…
While the ladies were preparing, they called me over to the window to check out this view… Kimmy’s brother was outside practicing the speech he would give at the reception. Melt. My. Heart.
Can we all just agree that she is glowing?!?!
Kimmy, there are no words. You were perfection.
I loved these ladies. Yes, I might be missing them as I write this post…
This was the second time shooting a wedding at Holy Cross, so you may remember it from Alessandra and Ben’s wedding post. But it doesn’t get old. Just LOOK at this place!
Two of Kimmy’s favorite men. Her brother walking her down the aisle, and the love of her life waiting at the altar. What a special moment!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Firestone!
This sweet moment is between Kimmy and her soon-to-be sister-in-law! Melissa, also a bridesmaid, is engaged to Sean’s brother!
Once we arrived at Argyle Country Club, we hopped on some (MANY) golf carts and started on the bridal party photos. These colors looked amazing against the golf course backdrop. LOVE.
As a photographer, I can say that it’s rare for groomsmen to come to me with photo ideas of their own. As in , it NEVER happens. But Tommy, Sean’s brother, as well as Sean’s father had a few. And I was tickled that they did. I am also wondering if it had something to do with Sean’s mother being a wedding photographer herself…. 🙂 Regardless, don’t these gentlemen look amazing?!?
I can honestly say… these people are beautiful people. Inside AND out.
Tommy’s idea. He even made sure everyone was even and in order. So fun to have an assistant!
And, as you all know… my favorite time of the day… PORTRAITS!!! These are just stunning. STUNNING.
Kimmy did not have a formal bridal session prior to her wedding day, so we took a few minutes to do some solo images of her before the reception. One word: Gorgeous.
Argyle Country Club was transformed into a magical venue for the reception. I always appreciate the use of good up-lighting. It makes such a difference in any space, and this was no different!
The Night Life Band killed it! They got involved with the crowd and kept the party going all evening!
All that practice paid off as Kimmy’s brother shared words from the heart. It was flawless.
After lots of laughter, love, and dancing, it was time for the newlyweds to be on their way! But not without a little garter and bouquet fun first!
Congratulations, you two! Have a blast on your honeymoon!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
M xoxo
